Federal Income and Employment Tax

Stephen’s tax practice consists of federal income and employment tax. Stephen talks with or interacts with the Internal Revenue Service nearly every day and has done so for over 18 years.   Regardless if your problems with the Internal Revenue Service have just started or if you have been dealing with the Internal Revenue Service for a long time, please call Stephen.

Stephen’s tax practice spans the entire spectrum of representing a taxpayer against the efforts of the Internal Revenue Service – from the administrative level within the Internal Revenue Service to going to trial against the Internal Revenue Service in the United States Tax Court, the Court of Federal Claims, and the United States District Court.

Are you facing any of the following tax problems?

Audit

Have you received an income tax audit letter?    Does the Internal Revenue Service want to conduct a “correspondence audit”?   Does the IRS want to conduct a face-to-face audit with you?   Have you received a subpoena to appear in front of the IRS ?    Have you been ordered to produce bank statements or other tax information?    Has an Internal Revenue Service auditor visited your home?  Has an Internal Revenue Service agent visited your workplace?  Have you received an audit report proposing additional taxes, penalties, and interest?    As a taxpayer, you have rights which you should protect during an audit.   Please call Stephen so that he may help you with your income tax audit.

Unpaid Taxes

Have you failed to pay federal income taxes in the past? Is the Internal Revenue Service threatening to collect? Is the IRS threatening to garnish your wages or take money from your checking and/or savings account?  Has the IRS already begun collecting from you?   Please call Stephen so that he may help you with your income tax liability.

Notice of Federal Tax Lien

Garnishments/Levies/Seizures

Is the Internal Revenue Service trying to garnish your wages or paycheck to pay back federal income taxes that you owe?    Are you an independent contractor and the IRS is contacting people for whom you work?  Is the IRS trying to take money out of your bank account to pay back federal taxes?   Is the IRS trying to take your real property, homestead or any other property which you may own?   Please call Stephen so that he may help you try to prevent the Internal Revenue Service from taking money from your paycheck, bank account, or other property.

Installment Agreement/Partial Pay Installment Agreement

Have you received collection letters from the Internal Revenue Service regarding back federal income taxes that you owe?  Do you want to enter into a payment plan or an installment agreement with the IRS to pay your federal income tax liability?    Please call Stephen so that he may help you enter into an installment agreement with the Internal Revenue Service.

Currently Not Collectible

Are you unemployed?   Do you not have any money to pay the Internal Revenue Service back what you owe?   You might be eligible to be declared currently not collectible which would stop the Internal Revenue Service from collecting money from you.     Please call Stephen so that he may help you in your efforts to be declared currently not collectible.

Unfiled Tax Returns

Have you failed to file tax returns from any past tax years? Has the Internal Revenue Service prepared a Substitute for Return for you in which it is proposing an income tax liability against you?    Is the IRS stating that you owe more income tax than you would owe if you had filed your income tax return?    Please call Stephen so that he may help you become compliant with the Internal Revenue Service filing requirements.

Innocent Spouse Relief

Has the Internal Revenue Service assessed federal income taxes, penalties, and interest against you because of what your spouse or ex-spouse earned?   Do you think you should not be liable for income taxes which have been assessed against you?   You may be eligible for relief from the income tax liability assessed against you.  Please call Stephen so that he may help you with your innocent spouse efforts.

Do you or your company owe employment taxes or “941” taxes?    Are you not able to pay the full amount owed to the Internal Revenue Service?    If so, please call Stephen so that he may help you with your employment tax issues.
